Teresa’s “duende”.

Teresa sang with the flamenco group led by Ed Stephenson on Saturday 2/22/20 in New Bern, and Sunday 23rd at C. Grace in Raleigh. At the end of those two presentations, the audiences gave them standing ovations.

When she sang Granada (by Agustín Lara), in both presentations, she ended up with a “high C”, with the audience cheering and giving her “oles”. Listen to her in Granada:

This was a performance with Ed Stephenson and the Paco Band at Marsh Woodwinds, Raleigh, NC, October 2010. In 2019 and so far in 2020, on about ten Flamenco Nights, her singing of Granada has been the favorite of the audiences.

Among her performances, I really like the song attached to this email.

She opens with a “son”, in a murmur. In the second part it is a “Cuban punto guajiro”, to which Teresa wrote the lyrics.

The reason for the “oles” and applauses that she draws from the audiences show her passionate singing, which s her “duende”.
